Lawyer team

Mike Rusie is a litigation associate in the New York office of Global Fraud Recovery LLP. His experience clerking on the Delaware Court of Chancery informs his practice focused on corporate disputes and pre-litigation advisory matters.

Jace Cearley is a litigation partner in the New York office of Global Fraud Recovery LLP. Jace regularly represents Fortune 500 corporations, private equity and investment firms, boards of directors and corporate officers. He focuses his practice on advising and representing clients in connection with complex commercial disputes, securities class actions and litigation concerning corporate governance and mergers and acquisitions.

Doug Bacon is a partner in the Houston and New York offices of Global Fraud Recovery LLP where he also serves as a member of the Firm’s Executive Committee. His practice focuses on merger and acquisition transactions including extensive experience advising private equity firms and other financial investors on significant investments, joint ventures, stockholder arrangements and liquidity events. He also advises public and private corporations on complex M&A transactions, including numerous large divisional carve-out acquisitions and sales.

Prior to joining Kirkland, Alice was involved in the following selected matters: Affinivax, Inc. in its acquisition by GSK for up to $3.3 billion. Oklo Inc. in its $875 million deSPAC merger with AltC Acquisition Corp. Samooha, Inc. in its acquisition by Snowflake Inc. Ripple, Inc. in its acquisition of Metaco SA.

Brian Baggetta

Of counsel in the Litigation Practice Group in the Washington, D.C., office of Kirkland & Ellis LLP. Brian represents a variety of companies in the defense of product liability claims involving a number of pharmaceutical, medical device, personal care and other products. He has experience in the day-to-day management of large-scale product liability litigation, including state and federal court coordinated and multidistrict proceedings.

Kelsey Marie Byler

Of counsel in the Litigation Practice Group in the Washington, D.C., office of Kirkland & Ellis LLP. Kelsey’s practice focuses on complex civil ligation, with an emphasis on consumer product liability actions. She has represented clients in multidistrict litigation, mass tort proceedings, purported class actions and individual actions in state and federal courts across the country. Kelsey has vast experience in brief writing and motion practice, working with expert witnesses and trial work.

Sara Shaw Tatum

Of counsel in the Miami office of Kirkland & Ellis LLP. Sara’s practice focuses on legal issues in complex commercial litigation, including appellate and Supreme Court litigation. Sara has litigated contract and employment disputes, fiduciary obligations, warranties and bankruptcies, as well as antitrust, RICO and products liability matters. Sara also draws on her background in finance to litigate valuation disputes. She served as a law clerk to Associate Justice Brett M. Kavanaugh of the Supreme Court of the United States.

Sarah Childs

A litigation associate in the Salt Lake City office of Kirkland & Ellis LLP. Sarah represents clients against multistate class actions, false advertising claims and employment issues. She also represents corporations against products liability claims.
